There are two general ways to interact with our website, namely:

  1. as a member of the general public who visits our website to search for a Maker
  2. as a Maker who wishes to register for a Maker Profile

In the course of interacting with our website, we may collect personal information about you to allow us to provide you with our services

This Privacy Policy governs the collection, use and disclosure of information that we may collect and applies to the information collected and stored by us. By accessing the website directly or through another website, you accept the terms contained in this Privacy Policy.


1. PERSONAL INFORMATION

If you are applying for a Maker Profile we may collect the following types of information via the Maker Registration form on our website (www.findamaker.com):

  • Business/Maker name
  • Address including town/city, state, country and postcode/zipcode
  • Email address
  • Telephone or mobile number (please do not include a telephone/mobile number if you do not wish for visitors to our website to have access to it as a means of contacting you)
  • Website, Facebook, Instagram and/or Etsy address
  • Description of your business and the products you Make
  • Photographs of yourself, your brand, your logo and/or the products you sell

2. USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

If you have registered for a Maker Profile, the information that you provide to us in the registration form may be used to:

  1. Make an assessment as to whether your application matches our Maker Profile criteria. For example, we will take into consideration how you create your product, whether it is handmade and/or has an element of handmade and creativity. We may also take into consideration the quality of the photos you provide in the registration to ensure that they are of high quality.
  2. Contact you about the outcome of your registration and if successful, send you a Maker Profile confirmation email with a link to your Maker Profile; and/or
  3. Be placed on your Maker Profile page. You have full control as to what appears on your Maker Profile page and we will not place information on it without your consent or authorisation. You can also request to change/update any of the information on your Maker Profile page by Contacting Us.

Use of Photos You Provide to Us

When you register for a Maker Profile you will be required to upload a profile photo and three (3) featured product photos. By completing the registration for a Maker Profile you provide us with the rights to use these photos on our website, Facebook page and Instagram page. When using your photos on Facebook and Instagram we will always tag and give credit to you in the relevant post. We may at times request to use your photos for other forms of advertising including print media. We will contact you via email to request permission prior to doing so.


Sensitive personal information

We will not collect sensitive personal information such as your race, ethnicity, religion, political affiliations, sexual preferences, criminal records or your medical history.


Unsolicited personal information

If we receive personal information that we did not solicit, we will within a reasonable period of time determine whether we would have collected that information for our business. If we would not have collected that information, we will destroy the information if it is lawful and reasonable to do so.

We will not send you marketing materials unless you have specifically authorised us to do so by joining or opting into our mailing lists.


Mailing List for Registered Makers

We will add the email you provide in the Maker Registration form to our Registered Maker mailing list. We will only use this mailing list to provide important information to Registered Makers such as changes to our website, terms and conditions and/or privacy policy.

The email address provided will not be visible on our website. If a user would like to email a Maker via their Maker profile page, a contact Maker form is provided where our server will send an email to the Maker. Maker email address will not be sold or solicited to any third parties.


3. TECHNICAL INFORMATION

When using websites, mobile applications, internet services and the like, the software automatically creates and records some information. Our website is no exception and some of the types of information we may record are:

We may provide links to third party websites that a Maker has nominated to be part of their Maker profile page which may have different privacy practices than us. Naturally, we do not have any control over these third party websites and they may place their own cookies and other files on your computer, and ask you for additional information. We are not responsible for the privacy policies of these third party websites and encourage you to read the privacy policies of those websites yourself.


Accuracy and quality of your personal information

We take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information we collect is accurate, up to date and complete.

All information that you provide to us via our online forms are stored in our databases which are accessible by our staff members. However, information that you permit to be displayed on your Maker Profile page are accessible by the general public.
